I took a very quick trip (overnight) to Colorado Springs recently and, although I didn’t get to spend much daylight time there, I visitied the Garden of the Gods and it was absolutely beautiful. Here are a few of the images from my hike through the “garden.” I wish I would have had the time to explore more and venture up to Pikes Peak but, I guess now I’ll just have to go back for that!

more from TN
Here are a couple I forgot to include.
Tennessee
I went to visit the family recently. I didn’t have much time but I took a short walk along the Watauga River via a trail at the Sycamore Shoals Historic Park. The fall colors were just starting to peak and it was a lovely little hike. Here are a few of my shots along with a couple I took off of 19E on my way to Johnson City to meet my brother for lunch. Wish I could go and just wander around for a week up there. Perhaps after I am finished moving!
Here are a few pics from when I went to the Pow Wow in September over in Country Park. The arena set up for dancers made for crappy backgrounds from every angle but the dancers are beautiful as ever. It seems smaller in recent years and I hope it does not dwindle into non-existence. Fewer vendors, fewer attendees. Still great volunteers. Many thanks to the Guilford Native American Association. Heather

This was taken as part of a project on contrast. I’ve never really been into the whole “blown out skin as a style” but wanted to venture into something new so thought I would do my own take on it. After some sketches and some brief planning with Heather, we decided on a concept and wardrobe. This was my favorite pose.
Beautiful Stranger
This gentleman was downtown during First Friday in September. He kindly posed for me but I didn’t get his name written down. I think he is so beautiful. Lovely, kind eyes, great lips, and awesome dreads. (Dreads are just gorgeous anyway. If I wouldn’t look insane, I would have dreads

Even though it rained, this was a fun filled day with an amazing turnout. People from all over the US and abroad came together at the Lowes Motor Speedway to raise money and awareness for a great cause. I was grateful to be a part of this event. What a friendly and upbeat crowd! These are a few of the images I took as part of Twisted Focus Group. To view all the photos (mine and others) from this event go to www.pictage.com/733189. You can buy or just view. They ask for your email but do not give out any info. They may email you with updates on special prices or the closing of this event. Meerkats are cute.

This little guy was at the Natural Science Center in Greensboro, NC. I think I may go back and take more pics of their adorable little fuzzies. This was shot with my D300s and 18-200 lens. (F8 @ 1/80, 135mm)

New skyline
I took this image in Canada. I loved everything except the skyline. The buildings ruined the mood for me so I changed it. I took a tree line from another image, fit it into this image, got rid of a couple of stray birds, and then created some more clouds. I had to color correct the tree line because it was in different lighting. I used pretty clouds from a lake picture I had taken and color corrected the blue of the sky. It was a good Photoshop exercise and I now have the image I envisioned. You can see the optimized version of the original in my previous post on Canada.
