This was part of my Valentine’s Day arrangement. Calla lilies are one of my favorite flowers (along with daffodils, tulips, and Gerbera daisies). It was hard to light as they were closed fairly tightly. I used lots of white matboard to bounce the light downward. I did a bw of this and can’t decide which I like better.
My friend, Phoenix, of Burn Fire Theatrics broke out the poi in his back yard. I lit this with a single Alien Bee and used a D300 and an 80-200 lens. I used a longer shutter speed to get the entire circle of fire. Phoenix is extremely talented and managed to move only his wrists!
This was shot with a Nikon D40 using a BR2 reversing ring and an 85mm lens. I built a small white box and used my on camera flash with a bounce card taped in front of it to bounce the light up and around inside the box. It was shot at f8, 1/500.
